Day 14 – Thursday April 29, 2010

What an exciting, yet frustrating day we had…

The My Shopping Genie Scam Review site is taking a lot of time away from our primary internet marketing business, so both my partner and I have been a little stressed that we might be juggling too many things. The good news is, the shopping genie business is looking more promising day by day…

Where to start with today's progress?

As we mentioned yesterday, today we planned to do some email marketing to some of our lists. We wanted to stress the urgency of attending the last webinar that MyShoppingGenie was holding before the official launch of the new my shopping genie software, May 1st. Getting our contacts to attend the webinar would help them further understand the Genie business and also allow them have reassurance that this is a real community, with real people, producing real results. Plus, they stand to benefit much more by coming in sooner… so without much hesitance, we rushed this out.

Here's the play-by play…

We built a landing page to help explain the Genie and let our readers know that in order to attend the webinar they needed to sign an non-disclosure form first. What a pain in the ass, right?

Well, after we built the page, loaded in an email, and finally sent it to our list, the My Shopping Genie company "guys" shot us over an email telling us: "this is the final webinar and it is OK to share publicly with anyone you choose". Crap, we just did all that for nothing!

Since we already had traffic going to the page that we built, we quickly changed it to match our new message. You can see our MyShoppingGenie landing page right here.

Our snafu's (definition of snafu) didn't end there, oh no…

It wasn't until checking our stats before "hitting the hay" that we realized our link for new distributors to sign up was very wrong and inactive! Brilliant!

We just drove a bunch of traffic to a sign up page that didn't work. OH NO! Even worse, we sent so much traffic that we exceeded our video bandwidth, so that ended up crashing too! If you were late getting to our page, then you likely had no video, and nowhere to sign up — we just have to smack ourselves in the forehead and throw our hands up in the air for dropping the ball. It happens to the best of us…

Luckily, one person did manage to follow our links and actually found a way to sign up… so despite all of our mistakes, there is no telling how many others did not find our signup page or went off and joined another distributor who had working links.  :(

Anyway, we now had one new distributor for our efforts.

Website Placement Status Update:

If you read yesterdays post, you know that we had some success with getting on the first page, spot 1 of Yahoo (for numerous variations of the keywords: my shopping genie, business, scam, reviews, etc). Unfortunately, it seems we have dropped a few positions for certain keyword phrases, but we plan to tweak and get back on the boards. The big "G" search engine has been crawling our site, so we foresee something good in the near future.

To recap where we stand as of today…

Day 13 – Friday April 28, 2010

So this is our second official day posting in "real time" on this blog and we are excited to share some new information with you. If you've been following our daily posts, you'll remember that we indexed (notified the search engines about) this very website (myshoppinggeniescam.com) last night. Unfortunately, the big "G" (biggest search engine) hasn't shown us any love, but Yahoo sure did!

Search almost any phrase containing "My Shopping Genie," My Shopping Genie Scam," "My Shopping Genie Review" or "My Shopping Genie Business", and guess what is listed? What you will find is that this website, myshoppinggeniescam.com is right up top… front and center.

As you could expect, this was our goal — to secure valuable real estate on search engines, and we believe it will be well worth the effort as this entire My Shopping Genie Community grows. Let's just cross our fingers and hope the other big guys show us the same love soon.

I think it is important to point out that we aren't just traffic hunger lead monsters… we built this site for a few reasons.

Most importantly to give readers like you a first hand look inside the My Shopping Genie Business, and to allow you to make a clear call on the main question at hand (is My Shopping Genie a Scam?) Another one of these reasons is to support our team, should this My Shopping Genie Application become something we need to develop support and tools for… 

Another thing to note since we are being completely transparent here… since we appreciate you following our story, we should also disclose that this website could one day turn into a co-op for our team to share in. Want to join our team?

OK, back to business!

As far as results go for the day… we have nothing new to share, as you can see below from our genealogy screen shot.

We also have not done anything new to actively promote the business in several days due to our normal obligations (and the time required to set this site up properly). In fact, we did something that most business owners totally neglect. — we took the time to lay a proper foundation because we believe in the merit of our actions. This is kind of a catch 22 too, some business owners just spin their wheels and get ready to get ready…

Tomorrow we are going to begin promoting the business again; we plan to target some of our email lists and our social networking profiles.

Day 12 – Tuesday April 27, 2010

Day 11 – Monday April 26, 2010

Today has been a busy day in the office, yet we still manage to take our business to another level.

April 26, as you may recall from one of our introduction posts, was the day we created this very website (MyShoppingGenieScam.com). All of the posts up to today's date were back dated, to get you (the reader) up to speed. Today is the day we started searching the internet for "My Shopping Genie Scam" and "My Shopping Genie Reviews". What we found led us to take on a new strategy to determine whether or not the My Shopping Genie business is a plausible business venture… and that's how this website was born.

We found ourselves putting many projects on hold to complete this website as FAST as possible.

Earlier in the day, we also had our official launch for our facebook fan page. This was accomplished by inviting numerous individuals to "like" our page using our own facebook friends.

We also launched our twitter account as of today — http://twitter.com/iShopGenie

So how did our day end? As a direct result from our facebook fan page, we had an extra 2-3 downloads of our free My Shopping Genie application. Again, we have not been focusing our efforts on distributing the free shopping genie application, as the new version will be launching May 1st. We also gained about 32 fans for our page in a single day… 10% converting to downloads is not too bad for a small launch!

No new distributors today.

Day 10 – Sunday April 25, 2010

Again, neither of us spent any time at our computer or discussing the My Shopping Genie business with anyone today.

One of us was spending time with family, and the other was back in LA watching his Yankees lose to the Angels.

1 new distributor was added by our overflow program, we have a total of 23 distributors.

Nothing like getting distributors added while you are out having fun!

Day 9 – Saturday April 24, 2010

Neither my partner nor myself spent any time at our computer or discussing the My Shopping Genie business, today.

One of us was doing a organized 4 mile run — which turned into a pub crawl at the end, and the other was helping a friend out with an event in LA.

1 new distributor was added by our overflow program, we now have a total of 22 distributors.

We are happy with My Shopping Genie thus far, yet still have not learned any additional information about the income pay plan.

Day 8 – Friday April 23, 2010

Again, we did not do much of anything today as far as our My Shopping Genie Business — just answered a couple of emails and did a little more research before we start to promote the product and opportunity to others.

Today way the first day we did not get any new people into our organization.

I guess the old saying is right, you get OUT what you put IN.
